Brothers Renly and Stannis Baratheon are both looking to take the Iron Throne in the wake of their deceased brother, Robert. However, they aren’t working together, instead dividing House Baratheon between those loyal to each. Gives House Baratheon players in the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game a set of characters loyal to King Renly for their forces. Renly, himself, heads into battle on the front lines, while others like Ser Parmen Crane, Brienne of Tarth, and Ser Guvard Morrigen do what they can to see the younger Baratheon brother on the Iron Throne.

House Martell’s famous Sunspear Royal Guards are few in number but count among the best-trained units across all of Westeros. Their adaptive style lends itself well to both offensive and defensive initiatives, and while their armor is heavier than most Martell units, their physical conditioning allows them to keep pace. As a hard center to a Martell vanguard, the Royal Guards have no match in Martell forces, and their flexibility lets them seize the initiative on the field as the tide of battle shifts.

Though they look slight compared to most western swordsmen, that does not mean the Unsullied are not as strong or effective on the battlefield. When joined with an officer, their skills are only enhanced, trading blow-for-blow with any foe.

North of the wall horses are a somewhat rare sighting, which makes Harma Dogshead’s Vanguard all the more inspiring for the Free Folk. While lightly armored and crudely armed compared to southern troops, these cavalry units serve as more than outriders, being both scouts and spearheads to the Free Folk armies. Their greatest weakness is in fact their lack of armor, but this gives rise to their greatest strength: pure speed.
