A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game is a competitive miniatures game for two or more players. Each player controls one of the Great Houses of Westeros, commanding battlefield units, recruiting legendary Heroes, and manipulating the political stage, in the attempt to claim the greatest prize of all: The Iron Throne.

The Greyjoy Heroes 2 box set for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game gives House Greyjoy players lots of new options for their forces. The set contains new unique characters, including both UAs and NCUs, with several new options for army Commanders as well. Each one has their own goals, but all are working for the greater good of House Greyjoy.

Soldiers train for just about any contingent out on the battlefield. However, few have any real strategy for when they see a massive war elephant bearing down on their battle line. With the Golden Company’s deep resources, they can field these massive beasts, selling their services to anyone willing to pay their price. War Elephants are trained to get quickly into close combat and use their massive feet, giant tusks, and powerful trunks to stomp, smash, and destroy all in front of them. However, they are still simply beasts, and not having a trained Golden Company handler nearby may cause the Elephant to lose control. Still, their inclusion in a force can quickly tip the balance.

Roose Bolton, Ramsay Snow, Petyr Baelish and Varys can lend their military expertise or political savvy to any house’s cause.

At the Wall’s western end stands the Shadow Tower and the men of the Night’s Watch who stand their vigil. Like all Night’s Watch brothers, the Shadow Tower Spearmen are clad in black leather and darkened steel, suited for warmth against the North’s legendary cold. Spearmen make superior flank guards, adept at receiving enemy charges, whether that be from cavalry or infantry, and delivering punishing blows before their opponent closes range. Spearmen can hold a center, if need be, but are better suited staying mobile. They’re not suited to lead an offensive move but can easily support such a maneuver.

This box brings Stannis Baratheon, The One True King, and his loyalists to the Baratheon forces. Many of them revere R`hllor, preached by Melisandre who can see visions in the flames. Queen Selyse herself has converted and is an enthusiast whilst others, like Lord Davos are more sceptic.

These infantrymen for Stark forces combine mobility, defence and fearsome weaponry to be one of the most versatile and deadly units in the game.

Strongly devoted to the Lord of Light, these warriors simulate the fabled flaming sword Lightbringer, by adding a mixture of oils set ablaze to their own weapons. Accompanied by a Red Priestess, their unwavering morale will cause terror to their enemies.

Brothers Renly and Stannis Baratheon are both looking to take the Iron Throne in the wake of their deceased brother, Robert. However, they aren’t working together, instead dividing House Baratheon between those loyal to each. Gives House Baratheon players in the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game a set of characters loyal to King Renly for their forces. Renly, himself, heads into battle on the front lines, while others like Ser Parmen Crane, Brienne of Tarth, and Ser Guvard Morrigen do what they can to see the younger Baratheon brother on the Iron Throne.

Highgarden, the center of power for House Tyrell, is known as a place of chivalric values. In the conflict to secure the Iron Throne following Robert Baratheon’s death, House Baratheon has called for aid and House Tyrell has answered by sending their Highgarden Pikemen. These highly trained fighters create a mobile wall of death on the battlefield, trained to perfection in the use of their pikes. When accompanied by a Pikemen Captain, their formidable force grows even stronger as the Captain coordinates every soldier’s attack, making sure the unit fights even beyond what might seem humanly possible.

As mountain tribes and raiders go, Tyrion Lannister’s Stone Crows are quite ordinary, save their unexpected loyalty. While pledged more to Tyrion’s coin than his person, they proved true to their word, even when betrayal might have been a more lucrative option. As mercenaries, these troops are worth their coin, if properly employed as scouts and flankers. Their light arms and armor make them unsuited to the front line in a protracted engagement.
